Our Story

Why We Started PRISM Emergency Management?

PRISM Emergency Management was born out of lived experience and a deep understanding of what happens when disaster strikes. After spending over 10 years working in emergency management—on the front lines of wildfires, floods, evacuations, and community crises—it became clear that more and more people are being affected by emergencies, and many are simply unprepared for what comes next.

The turning point came during a flood evacuation. I looked around at exhausted families—many without insurance, personal ID, clean clothing, or even basic necessities. People were overwhelmed and vulnerable, not just because of the disaster itself, but because they didn’t have the chance—or the tools—to prepare.

That moment raised one powerful question: How can we help people prepare better, so they don’t have to suffer as much after?
PRISM was created to answer that question.

We believe preparedness is not a luxury—it’s a life skill. And we’re here to help individuals, families, and organizations build the plans, skills, and confidence they need to face uncertainty with strength and resilience.
